U14A vs Finborough – won 5-0

The season started off with a bang, with a superb result against Finborough. We dominated from the outset and everyone in the team was committed and worked extremely hard. The central combinations of Jemima Brooks, Annabel Crawford and Ella Ball meant we controlled the centre. The first goal took a while to arrive, as several shots went wide or were saved, but great positional play by the forwards meant we were finally rewarded. In the second half we were totally dominant and meant we ran in several goals.

On occasion the opposition attack broke through, but Jemima Deacon was outstanding at the back, winning our player of the match award. Goals came from Jemima Brooks (x2), Annabel Crawford, Eirann Cheale and Amelia. I was so impressed with the whole team, especially since it was the first time they had played 11 a-side, so were all learning a new formation and new positions. I am excited to be their coach this term if this is a sign of things to come. Well done Team!
